Stage Tour
RIDE THE RAIL
This ‘Bike Train’ will be all about olde-worlde travel, and having the best of times with your mates (and your bikes, of course). The Premiere Classe train has been specifically selected for this journey, and will allow you to explore mountain biking routes in five of South Africa’s nine provinces.
Departure from Johannesburg Station is set for 27 May 2018, and you’ll make memories for a lifetime as you journey across the country to your final stop in Cape Town on 3rd June 2018. Be warned: you will have to endure everything from champagne and gourmet cuisine to the camaraderie of a never-to-be-forgotten MTB experience.
The train will consist of 12 sleeping coaches, two dining carriages, two bar- and lounge coaches, and finally the kitchen coach. And no, they’ve not forgotten the locomotive! All in all, the train will have capacity for 150 riders, making for an exclusive, boutique-style experience. You can be sure everyone will know each other by the end of this trip.
Over seven days, riders will journey from Jozi to the Cape, and along the way you will stop at specially selected destinations. The plan is to let you ride like a local, with local organisers sharing some of the best routes, knowledge, culture and hospitality.
The destinations will be kept under wraps for now, but distances and daily accumulated climb will be revealed in due course. What we can say is: you had better get ready for anything from Urban Adventure and Gold Rush, to the Moordenaars Trail and Hex Rail. The final Cape Town leg will be a loosely guarded secret, and is sure to blow your minds.
